The bubble
By default the bubble plays its clip, muted, as a moving preview, and downloads the clip when the page loads. Floating Bubble → Bubble → Video Preview changes that:
- Autoplay muted (the default): the clip loads with the page and plays as soon as the bubble shows.
- Play when visible: the clip loads and plays once the bubble appears, after any Time-Based Loading delay or Show After Scrolling distance. Nothing downloads before that.
- Poster only: the bubble shows its thumbnail, and the clip loads only when the visitor hovers over, focuses or taps the bubble.
Visitors whose device asks for reduced motion or data saving see the poster first in every mode; the clip starts when they open the bubble. Whichever mode you choose:
- Keep bubble clips short (10–15 seconds), at 540p or 720p, and compressed. A few hundred KB is a good target.
- Use a light Default Video Thumbnail, such as a WebP image.
- Show the bubble only where it helps, with visibility rules or assignment rules.
Video and audio players
- Autoplay is Off by default. Browsers block autoplay with sound until the visitor interacts with the page.
- Load Strategy: On Click (Poster Until Played) downloads nothing until someone presses play. When Scrolled Into View waits until the player is visible.
- Preload: None or Metadata Only keeps the first load light.
